More work on the website
Well, I plan on reworking the website next. I'll remove the cgis, which mostly had no active presence on the site.
Rambling about censorship
I have mixed feelings about the recent news about the EU declaring it unfair for companies to make censorship decisions, on their own. And I mean feelings, so don't expect well-formed logic from this braindump.
And I might be wrong, but here's what I think:
- Censorship is bad
- Net neutrality is good
- Somewhere exists a line between free speech and causing harm
- I often intentionally add typos to trademarks
Based on just that, I think fccebcck and twttter censoring users who yell "fire" is good. A person who incites violence that gets folks killed has at the very least indirectly participated in something bad.
I want to bring one more thing into the conversation:
Arrbbn recently cancelled all reservations in the Warshingtun, DC area during the inauguration.
I have different feelings about removing housing. What if someone who actually lives in the area, maybe between moves or looking for shelter during renovations from broken pipes?
On the other hand, to put this in better context, this could be something on the verge of civil war. I honestly don't know. I don't think we have a good enough set of rules or laws around any of this. And if someone has intuited this, metaphysically speaking, already, I unfortunately remain ignorant to it.
