Six Weeks Later

Actually, almost seven weeks. I originally started writing this post about three weeks ago.

I still kind of hurt, mostly my arms. My right arm still feels sore and hurts to do large actions. My left hand is sensitive to cold.

I tried playing guitar for the first time since the collision. That hurts too, more than I thought. I felt quite a bit of disappointment related to that. Typing and writing no problem, but guitar playing, ouch! But I still count myself lucky enough that I still exist. And don't seem to have any knee or hip problems, which folks have pointed out. "At least you didn't..." insert words here.

Last time I only wrote some vague details, and mostly about reactions and previous "encounters".

Purchasing

I took a long walk last week. I stopped in at the local ttrpg game shop. Looking around, I realized that the card matts feel like mostly the same material as a mousepad, but about half the thickness, so I bought one. It covers most of my desk and it feels nicer under my forearms while I type, than the bare desk. My OLFA cutting matt fits right over the top and doesn't slide around.

I also purchased a new helmet.

Possible Appropriation

There is one episode of Clean Code: Component Design from October 2012, the SOLID Components video, that I dislike based on the thumbnail. Not the preview video, but the one on the actual site. Since I have not paid for that one, I do not know the context. But I was in the market; I thought maybe I'd try another one when I found it.

Uncle Bob routinely dresses up for videos, and it's usually funny, no surprise there. I don't want to start an internet war, so I'll just keep it to my corner here... But I've known for as long as I can remember that there are some forms of formal attire that folks should not put on. There are times and places when it might be appropriate, but I don't think this counts.
