2022-07-16

• I joined the Adventurerers Guild a while back.
• Today I signed up for some job. I joined because I need some cash.
• Elentel the Wizard and Brigid the Fighter also join the adventure.
• We need to go to some library to get rid of the monsters for some researcher to come in?
• On the way to the library, we go through a swamp
• We run into some lizard folks who look like they just got done hunting an aligator
• They almost decide to attack Brigid as an alternate dinner, but Elentel convinces them otherwise
• So we move on to the library
• When we get there, it looks like some old building and nobody has been there for a while
• We get the doors open, Brigid gives me a torch, and we go inside
• Then something tries to kill me
• Next thing I know, Elentel has killed the baddie and Brigid almost died too
• I gain 100 XP
• And now I'm somewhere else!

2022-07-20

• I roll a 1d4 => 3 hours of unconsciousness, unless otherwise woken up.
• A lizardfolk, someone, probably bad, is dragging my unconscious body away
• My fellow adventures capture them, a little girl, who claims she needs food for her family; they were going to eat me
• She tells us the library has cockatrices
• Can a zero-HP, unconscious and stable character be woken up prematurely
• I wake up, we do some healing, Elnetel looks around the stacks for some books, or a specific book maybe
• We fight two cockatrices
• I get an egg and 67, no 100 XP
• After a little while we get to the home in the library of the lizardfolk

2022-08-15

• We last left off, clammering over roots and vines in the library. We had been following a juvenile lizardfolk back to where their family had been living.
• I cast bardic inspiration on Elnetel
• Sylvie
• We go to sleep and reflect on the previous day.
• 100 XP => Level 2!
• The next morning we light another fire
• Elnetel admits they're looking for some magic book, in addition to our guild task to clear the library
• Elnetel helps to break/reset the bone injuries of Sylvie
• Slynith, the young one, leads us across the library
• We get to what might be the main part of the library. There's a second/mez floor and the ceiling goes way up to the dome that was visible from the outside.
• I find two books in okay condition worth 10 gold each
• We all touch the spot that Elnentel was working on and it lights up when they and I touch it, but not Brigid.
• The statue is a tall figure wearing scholarly robes with a book in one hand and chimes in the other.
• I roll a nat 20 => 22 history and I realize it's Mordenkainen.
• Gain 200 XP for fighting the golem

2022-08-29

• At the top floor we hear some folks talking about "gradual" students.
• We both hide. I roll 20 => 24 for stealth.
• And now we're in initiative combat!
• El eeps and I start playing the flute and we settle down the gobins.
• Prix and Grix
• They seem confused as to how long they've been in the library
• The librarian is a she
• She might be an owl bear
• But then they call the librarian a he
• "Live the exciting live of the abjoration wizard" or "running away from lizardfolk" and again they cannot agree and keep changing the story
• We go up the stairs and see her, with a pipe in her mouth
• She mentioned the "dark wing" of the library
• Thanwis the Librarian
• We take a long rest
• We fight the book monster in the dark wing
• Book-a-saurus? Thesaurus?
• Gain 150 XP for fighting the book monster etc

2022-09-12

• We meet D-fens Arcanomata, a defense robot for the library. They tell us we should extinguish non-magical light sources and speak quietly to avoid dangers loose in the wing
• We keep moving deeper into the dark wing
• I get stabbed in the back again
• But we heal up and take out the baddies
• Then we keep walking and meet more baddies
• After we beat them, El looks through the books
• I talk to D-fens, which I might or might not have understood
• Then I take a short rest
• I quietly think of some song ideas while El looks for things in books
• El finds a way to cast Locate Object
• Then we get attacked again
• They throw 2 daggers and I fall down for the death save game
• El stabilizes me, but I'm unconscious
• Gain 200 XP

2022-09-26

• Elnetel starts dragging me out
• We get attacked, but of course, I am still unconscious
• d4 for hours until awake w/ 1 HP => I will wake up in 4 hours unless someone heals me

2022-10-03

• I was given a healing potion by the school nurse
• I'm awake and the nurses asks if I need more assistance so I ask for another healing potion
• I have to make a CON save; I succeed
• I'm at full health now
• I can see in the darkness a little easier now, but I also seem to be less substantial

• Darkling and Dark Shadow Warrior

• Rapier pale moonlight

2022-10-17

• I get the new rapier and some studded leather
• I also get some magic from the darkness that gives me a +1 to DEX and CHA
• I ditch a torch, my dagger, my old rapier, and my non-studdent leather
• We fight an owlbear
• The surviving goblin, Vilbo, joins us
• We then travel to another room that was blocked before when the library was still cursed
• I tell Vilbo I will pay 1 gold to retrieve the potion in the room
• A meffit appears, we fight it and Vilbo deals the final 1 HP to slay it
• I get two Potions of Fire Breath and give Vilbo 5 gold for the outstanding effort
• XP total 550 => 1533
  • 50 XP for meffit
  • 400 XP for the fight with Thamus the owlbear
  • Another 100 XP for finding treasure
• OOU: I create an item for Magic from the Darkness

2022-10-24

• We prepare to take a long rest
• Elnetel reads the new book
• I cast CompLang to read my new sword and then I pass out
• From my point of view I just feel like I've moved into a shadow realm; I look shadowy
• I meet With-uh-W, who looks much darker than all the rest of the shadows
• With-uh-W asks me to find out more about the other gods of this time and to stick wth Elnetel
• Crash has 6 sibs, and they is the oldest
• Crash took the job with the adventurers guild because the forest fires in the Cascadia Provence had stalled the musical tour
• Vilbo cooks the owlbear to make some steaks
• I find some salt and use presto to add some spice
• We sleep for the night
• Next day we leave the library
• We meet some bad people hunting and attack them
• I blast one
• I blast it again
• I stab at the other one
• XP total 200 => 1833
  • 200 for the fight
  • 100 for learning things

2022-11-07

• We're on our way back to the busling small city of Properity
• We spend the first night in the wilderness
• The next day, after traveling, we make it nearly to the town
• 2 dinosaurs attack us!
• We jump off the cliff
• I cast feather fall
• Elnetel finds a place, 45 ft away from me
• I make it 10 ft
• 20 ft remains
• Vilbo falls and I cast feather fall again
• I make it to the safe-ish spot
• We cross the bridge
• One night
• Another day travel
• Two nights, bam! An encounter at night, fight!
• I get an amulet and Vilbo and El get some robes
• We get to a farm and kill an ankeg?
• The farmers reward us with lunch
• XP total 425 => 2258
  • 150 for the ankeg
  • 75 for the cultists
  • 200 for fleeing the dinos

2022-11-21

• An hour and a half later, we make it back to town
• Someone is in a casket and there's a celebration
• El talks to a passerby about the event
• They tell us:
• Steven the Bold died fighting a dragon in the Cascadia Provence
• Red dragon, perhaps an ancient dragon
• I play my lute and bring together a small group
• We see some folks dressed like the ones who jumped us the previous night
• I ask one of the flautists, obviously a half-elf, and they say:
• Some new sun cult
• Siminel seems to flirt with me and offers a place to stay
• We make it to the Guild check-in and must declare our treasures
• Eventually

• The person at the gate told me to find a person to join us over at the Broken Wheel
• My fortune from the guard at the gate: I am destined to lose a lot of money an end up in bed with someone I don't like
• I travel across the town to the Broken Wheel
• I see Vilbo there also, carrying maybe close to 100 daggers walk up to someone and start talking
• It's Gretchen, our new PC!
• Suddenly three of the religious folks try to attack me from behind
• We fight, two run away, the third fall unconscious
• I stablize the would-be-assassin
• I do my best to make peace
• His name is Hamish
• We talk and eventually he leaves peacefully
• After a while we meet back w/ Elnetel, who has much nicer clothes on than before, but like the rest of us, still needs a shower
• XP 150 => 2558

2023-01-02

• We stay the night in the barracks
• Vilbo wakes us up
• We're going to the Village of Silvertree to find out why they're having a bad day.
• The Affective Azuth's Guardians
• Hamish finds us and warns us some of his folks are going to ambush us
• Sammish (his father), Rebeccah, Velum, and another person of shorter stature
• We get outside the city
• 3 suns setting tonight, and storm clouds are in the horizon
• Then we fight a Baba Yaga death house, sans Baba Yaga
• We win and then go to find a place not to close by to camp
• I presto us all dry
• XP 416 => 2974, for a Level Up to Level 4 to apply once we take a long rest

2023-01-16

• We start to camp, but then we hear someone call out for help.
• The person is Dodge, who is being held up in the air 20 ft by a large tree person.
• Eventually the tree person drops Dodge and I use featherfall to catch them.
• We walk for a while, camp, level up, and then travel for a couple days.

• We walked around a few more rooms in the cave, got wet, nearly died fighting some Ankhegs and an armoured flail slug.
• We take a short rest.

2023-02-06

• Only about 2 hours have past since we entered the cave, putting us around 2pm.
• Dodge still has a couple hits of exhaustion.
• We fight a rock monster in the middle of our long rest.
• Comprehend Languages for the next hour
• We sleep, get the big bowl to the rest of teh bowls.
• Then we pull a fifth element and activate the bowls, but something wrong happens and the two big statues come to life.
• XP 283 => 4832

2023-04-07

• We fight the two definitely-not-gargoyles
• El and I run back to take cover in the narrow passage, hoping to bottleneck Argle
• hex on Argle for 10 turns
  • hit, miss, hit
• Argle dies and I move up to attack Biff
• Then we go further into the cavern
• We find a town of dvergar
• Then we fight some dvergar
• We win the battle
• XP 375 => 5207

2023-05-25

• We get attacked again and El gets hit hard
• Someone new shows up, apparently on our side
• Elnetel goes does, uses a limit break to wipe out the enemies, and disappears
• The new person is Halbeard, a dwarf warrior
• We take a short rest before continuing
• Halbeard tells us of the cursed dirt elemental that is turning the dvergar into crystaline forms
• XP 400 => 5607
